The game that i am going to be researching is the game Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This is an RPG Adventure game with unique mechanics and a stylised art style. I will be defining the audience of this game using secondary research. This game is a GameCube exclusive.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door sold 2.25 Million copies worldwide and the Pegi rating of 3+.
The Gamecube was targeted towards various audiences with its various titles such as Metroid for older gamers and Mario games for younger audiences.

"Sometimes it's promoted as a toy and sometimes it's promoted as hip and cool. Like the PS2 the Gamecube has games for everyone and therefore should be marketed in a similar way."

This chart further supports my previous discoveries as this graph states that the people who play Action Adventure/RPG games are predominately males.

This is a chart about the general ESRB rating of Gamecube games, this is a good example of the general amount of games that were created for the console. From this I can gather that Family Friendly E rated game dominated the market and i think that more families would buy then for small kids. Although it wasn't exclusively for kids as there are some titles that are fore teens and above.
"Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door improves on its predecessor in every way and takes the cake as the best Mario RPG yet. Highly recommended."
This quote from a review of Paper Mario shows that it is a good game and that it is recommended to play it. At this point, from the secondary research I discovered that the main audience for the game Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is Males between 18 - 29. I think this is the correct age range for the game as people who would of played previous Mario games such as Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG would play this game also but they would be older now. Also the average ratings from reviews on many different websites is 9 and above which means that the people who bought and played the game think that its a really good game.
