Research Techniques
There are many different research techniques that are used to gather different types of data. This post outlines the differences between the different types of research such as Qualitative Research and Quantitative Research.
Quantitative Research
Quantitative Research is largely based around closed answers and numerical data, this research method collects data which would be used in charts and graphs as the answers given are more precise due to the fact that they are closed answers. Compared to the other research technique Qualitative research the data gathered by this method is unbiased and opinionated. This research is done online and on the high street.
When done in person these surveys are more likely to be correct as it is done face to face, although when these are done online you have no idea if the person completing the survey is being honest as you do not see who they are so it is easy for false data to be considered as true.
This is the Quantitative Survey that we created to gather data about Pokemon Go. It was created to gather basic information about people who have played Pokemon Go. This gives us a basic understanding of some people who have played this game.
After collecting the data using the previous survey all of the data was collected and put into a tally which allowed us to see all of the results

Qualitative Research
Qualitative research is research consisting of mostly Open answers and questions. The questions asked are more about opinions then facts, this information allows for the the creator of the survey to get a better understanding of the people who are taking their survey. You would know more about a person if they took a Qualitative survey rather then a Quantitative surveyThis is a Focus Group which is where multiple people talk about a subject or a question. This is a good way of research as it allows everyone to voice their opinions on the matter and it also given you insight into different peoples view on the given questions.
These are the results of the Survey Monkey Survey that i created for my quantitative survey.
